THE OBSERVED LIFE.
For nearly two decades, I have lived behind a lens, not in a classroom. Based in South Africa, my work is the result of an eighteen-year secret apprenticeship. Silently observing the world from the outside, finding beauty in the overlooked, and capturing the cinematic tension of the everyday.
My background is not one of academic theory, but of raw life experience. This is my superpower. It allows me to bypass the technicalities of the 'perfect' shot in favor of the emotional truth of the scene.
My work exists in the liminal; the thresholds where we feel a sense of nostalgic recognition and a touch of unease. I create dream-like, cinematic scenery that invites the viewer not just to look at the frame, but to step into it. These are memories recalled; moments captured in the quiet hours. when the world feels suspended between a previous thought and a future event.
